I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since Jonathan and I got married! It feels like only yesterday we were frantically prepping and wrapped up in all the drama that comes with wedding planning. I’ve probably been a little bit too mushy lately with Valentine’s day and all the honeymoon talk, but I couldn’t let this day pass without acknowledging it. So, I’ll keep it short and sweet. Below is an Apache wedding blessing that our officiant read during our ceremony. It reminds me of what is really important in a marriage; loving and supporting one another, remaining individuals but sharing a life together, and honoring the commitment we’ve made to each other. Happy 6 monthiversary to my wonderful husband, I’m looking forward to sharing many more milestones and anniversaries together.
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth for the other. Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you. May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years. May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.
